Moreno Colaiacovo
Data scientist

Moreno Colaiacovo gets his degree in Bioinformatics in 2008 from the University of Milan-Bicocca. From 2009 to 2013 he works as a computational biologist at CRA, where he completes his PhD thesis on plant genomics. Since 2013 he is employed by Genomnia, where he analyses NGS data covering genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and metagenomics applications. He is involved in the NetLiPS project for the development of a certification and monitoring platform of iPS cell lines, and in the european grant Paincage for the study of neuropathic pain; in this context he performs data analysis and supports project partners with result interpretation. Over the years he developed computational pipelines for microRNA and methylation analysis, as well as the identification of disease-related mutations in exome sequencing projects. Since 2018 he is attending a master course in Business Intelligence and Big Data Analytics at the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he is improving his data science and machine learning skills.

Valentina Vigano
Molecular Biology Lab Technician

Valentina Viganò obtained a BSc in Industrial Biotechnology at University of Milano Bicocca (Italy) in 2006. After her studies she worked as a researcher at “Istituto di ricerche chimiche e biochimiche G. Ronzoni” in Milan for one year. Then she moved to San Raffaele Hospital (Milan), where she worked for four years as a laboratory technician in molecular diagnostic. Here she improved her knowledge of molecular biology methods and worked with nucleic acids on the HLA system. She has been working at Genomnia as Molecular Biology Laboratory Technician since 2011.
